Abstract
The Shenzhen Design Week was established in 2017, nearly a decade after Shenzhen joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network as a "City of Design". It serves as a comprehensive platform that integrates the diverse creative forces of the society into the city's overall development strategy based on the concept of design. The Shenzhen Design Week has enabled Shenzhen to showcase its voice on the global stage and has become a milestone for the development of Shenzhen's design and related industries.
The Shenzhen Design Week is not only an event platform centered around design, but also emphasizes the mutual influence between design and industry, and design and society. One of its important goals is to introduce top design resources from around the world, making the city a creative cluster while continuously promoting the professionalization and globalization of local design talent. This in turn provides constructive pathways for the city's brand image. For example, the "Guest Country" section allows for the exchange and practice of design resources between two regions, gradually establishing the brand image of "Shenzhen Design" and enhancing the reputation of "Shenzhen Design" in the global design industry.
The "Shenzhen Global Design Award" section connects young talent with global experts and encourages designers from different disciplines to express themselves. The scope of the awards has gradually expanded, and efforts are made to build top professional and international design awards. These classic elements have endowed "Shenzhen Design" with increasingly diverse content.
The Shenzhen Design Week is also a city-wide celebration, providing various creative activities that are open to the public. The public can access the design industry and products through theme exhibitions, lectures, forums, and summits. This approach of integrating design into daily life allows the public to receive design education with a more open-minded perspective and innovative design thinking. 深圳设计周成立于2017年,是深圳加入联合国创意城市网络“设计之都”近十年后,以设计的理念,将社会蓬勃发展的多元创意力量汇集到城市整体发展战略层面的综合性平台。它使深圳设计在世界上发出自己的声音,成为深圳设计及其相关产业发展的一个里程碑。
