Abstract

The London Design Festival was established in 2003 and has since successfully held 20 editions. Exhibitions in iconic buildings and citizens' living spaces, as well as hundreds of design events, rotate throughout the festival. This design event has created an excellent platform for designers, artists, and architects from all over the world to exchange ideas, while also serving as an effective means of conveying design concepts to various sectors of society and the general public. As an internationally influential metropolitan city with considerable economic, political, and cultural influence, London is a cradle of cultural industry development and a world pioneer of creativity. The London Design Festival offers us an excellent example of how to condense the width and breadth of world design into a single event.

As a characteristic project of the London Design Festival, the Landmark Project invites outstanding designers from around the world to conduct design practices in key locations in London. This project not only conveys the issues that the festival is concerned about to citizens, but also concentrates on showcasing London's design strength and design atmosphere. In addition, the London Design Festival focuses on creating a "walkabout" experience, placing design events throughout the city, making the festival's atmosphere closely linked to London's way of life, and combining it with a unique online index method to provide audiences with a clearer exhibition experience.

伦敦设计节自2003年设立,至今已经成功举办了20届，位于伦敦的各个地标性建筑和市民的生活空间的展览与上百个设计节活动项目在伦敦设计节轮番上演。这一设计盛事为来自世界各地的设计师、艺术家、建筑师创造了一个绝佳的交流平台，与此同时，伦敦设计节也成为了向社会各界与民众们传递设计概念的有效途径。伦敦，作为对全球经济、政治、文化颇具影响力的国际一流大都会城市，也是文化产业发展的摇篮，自然扮演着世界创意先驱的角色。如何使世界设计的宽度和广度都在此凝练，伦敦设计节给了我们很好的范例。
