Abstract

Istanbul is the largest city in Türkiye and a unique city integrating eastern and western cultures. In 2017, it joined UCCN as "City of Design". Istanbul has demonstrated its design strength by showcasing its originality in urban planning and architecture to the world. After becoming the City of Design, the city has attracted the attention of international designers by revitalizing historical heritage, promoting local traditional art and handicraft innovation. Istanbul emphasizes inheritance in its construction strategy and promotes international cultural exchange through organizing design exhibitions, art festivals, and other activities, injecting new vitality and hope into future development.
