Abstract
Bandung, the capital of Indonesia's West Java province and the country's fourth largest city, has a unique background for industrial development. Located in southeastern Asia, the city is not only the cultural and educational center of Indonesia, but also a star city in the creative industry in recent years. Thanks to its rich history, multicultural atmosphere and government support for the creative industries, Bandung's industrial development has shown great vitality.
In terms of service industries, Bandung's performance is particularly impressive. First of all, Bandung Design Biennale, as a business card of the city, not only attracts the participation of many designers and creative talents at home and abroad, but also brings unlimited design inspirations and creative collisions to the city. With the basic concept of “maximizing the potential power of design and putting it into practice to solve real-life urban problems”, this event effectively promotes the rapid development of Bandung's design industry. In addition, the Bandung Design Initiative, as another important service industry activity, provides a broad platform for innovative solutions to urban problems through the Design Thinking Symposium held annually. These activities not only enhance Bandung's international reputation, but also inject new vitality into the city's economic and social development. Driven by the service industry, Bandung's creative economy in fashion, graphic design and digital media has also made remarkable achievements and become an important part of the city's economy.
